update for the week

So it's been a few weeks since I wrote. Claire told me I would have tons to write about. She lied. I can't think of anything all that exciting to write. Here's what's been going on with the wedding plans... Chad and I have finally set a date. We chose... August 8th. I know it's about time. Everyone kept asking us when it what going to be and I feel a lot better having a date to tell people now. Other than that, things are moving forward slowly and I'm not too stressed out. We ordered our wedding bands, and put our gift registries together (which was the worst five hours of my life, I HATE SHOPPING) Now onto the next big thing, dress shopping. We're doing that tomorrow. I can't wait. I'm actually pretty excited about this part. Now if only there was somewhere close to home, so we didn't have to drive all over the state looking for my perfect dress.

my prince charming

So I figured that it was about time to start this blog thingy. That and even if I didn't want to, Claire would bug me until I did. So Claire seems to think that I'll have tons to talk about on this thing. I guess I do... Let's see... I'll tell my engagement story. It all began on the night of April 19th. Chad and I were in Disneyland, enjoying the long lines and to-die-for corndogs. Seeing that I've only been to Disneyland a few times, there's a lot I haven't seen. One of those things being Snow White's garden. In the garden there is a wishing well; you know the one that Snow White sings into in the movie and it echoes back. Chad asked if I wanted to make a wish. He gave me a penny and I closed my eyes, wished and tossed it in. Chad asked me what I wished for and I told him, "I can't tell you, it won't come true!" We turned around to look at the Statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Chad pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked me to marry him. My wish had come true. Of course I said yes.
So that's the great story of my engagement. So now it's onto planning the wedding. We're not sure when the date is yet. Any ideas about cheap receptions would be greatly appreciated.
